Once again with the thefridayfive

1. If you could give out Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress and Best Director Oscars to any movies (not necessarily all from the same year) to people/films that haven't won, what would they be?
I'm not sure this is a tough one but I definately wouldn't have given so many to Slumdog Millionaire. It was an entertaining enough film but not as great as tehy made out at the Oscars.

2. What is your favorite genre of writing (short stories, novels, nonfiction...)?
I like science fantasy writing. Terry Pratchett is one of my fav authors.

3. Are there any CDs to which you know every word? Movies?
Not really, unless I'm actually singing along to a song I could never remember all the words and while there are some films that I know a few lines from I couldn't quote the whole film.

4. If you could write and cast your own movie, what would it be about and who would you cast?
It would totally have to be a horror movie of some description adn I would mostly cast unknowns because there's just too much of an expectation with big hollywood stars.

5. What's the best song to wake you up? Put you to sleep?
To wake me up I guess it would have to be some Green Day. I've fell asleep quite a few times listening to the What Dreams May Come soundtrack, it's very relaxing.

Ok so now that's done I'm off to bed before I collapse on the keybooooooooooooooooooo *snores*

Haven't done much today I've mostly been sorting things for the comm I mod birthday_celebs. I have to say I love Imageshacks new look, it's so easy to upload multiple photos and get the codes for them now. It's only taken me half the time to upload pics for birthday_celebs now.

Other than that I'm having quite a quiet weekend, not much on. Watched Tropic Thunder last night and it was actually quite funny. I mean if you wanted to take it seriously you could get all offended and say it was highly racial and discriminatory and all that crap but lets face it, it's just a movie meant to be taken lightheartedly. I enjoyed it because I just let the laughter out and didn't dwell on the fact that it's totally politically incorrect.

Anyway I have way more movies to watch and lots of cross-stitching to get on with if I ever want to finish my boss' birthday pressie. I'm making her a cross-stitch of a rottweiler and it's quite big. so far I've finished stitching 2 pages of 10 and her birthday is in May so I really need to get moving with it.

Stranded!
It's the "stranded on a desert island" question! You can only take one thing from each category. What is it and why are you taking it?

1.A food that can be planted and regrown.
Man this is a tough question, since chocolate doesn't grow on a plant. I'd probably take potatoes since they are quite versatile.

2. A person you haven't seen in a long time.
I guess if it wasn't a member of my family then I'd bring my friend Ger from Ireland. She's a great laugh and will always provide a bit of light fun on the island.

3. A book you (were) read as a child.
Mrs Pepperpot. I loved that book and actually still have it. It's about a little old woman who shrinks to the size of a pepperpot and has all these little adventures.

4. A celebrity.
It would have to be Michael Shanks who plays Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG1, he is HOOOOOOTTTTT!!!

5. The entire episode run of a television show (it's a very nice desert island).
Oh this is a toughy, do I bring Farscape, battlestar or Stargate???? I'd have to just do a random pick of one of those although I think maybe Farscape might be the choice since I haven't watched it in a while.

Ok so now that's over with on to other things. thiskindalove is coming over for a visit next week and I can't wait. I haven't seen her in ages so there will be lots of squeeing and silliness.

I'm off for the entire weekend!!!! This happens very rarely now since my bosss keeps putting us in to work Saturdays. I'm seriously starting to think about finding a new job, it's not that I hate my job but it's not exactly ideal the way it works. Because there are only 3 of us there it means that if someone is sick the other 2 have to work their asses off. My boss was off for about 2 months after an operation and me and Nicola were absolutely knackered. Now Nicola is going on maternity leave so it's just gonna be me and my boss. It also means that I can't take holidays when I want and when my boss wants to take a day off I have to take it too because I can't work there on my own. I also have to get up at 6am to be able to be in work at 9am, it's crazy. If I got a job here in Hamilton then I wouldn't have to get up so early everyday.

So that's my whingeing over for now maybe some more later.

So I got my tattoo done and I like it...except the colouring on the leaves. She, for some unkown reason decided to colour the ends of the leaves yellow! I couldn't really see it at the time she finished doing it becuase those bits were bleeding like mad but I'm thinking I'm gonna go back and get that colour changed to more green. Other than that I'm quite happy with it but I think I'll try elsewhere for my phoenix tatoo as I really want that to be amazing and I'm not sure they can pull it off in there.

So without further ado here's the picsCollapse )

Give me your comments on it and be honest.

Have some more random pics of the dogs and me and Greg and pics from When we went to Inverness at New Year which for some reason I never got around to posting:

Random PicspamCollapse )

Hope you enjoyed the picspam. The last thing I'm gonna say is: For the love of God don't watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I almost died of boredom watching it.

Went to the craft fair today and it was fab but I had nowhere near enough money to get all the stuff I wanted. There were so many gorgeous cross-stitch kits and loads fo cool card making materials. I did get the cards, envelopes and stickers for my wedding invitations though.

Other than that I haven't done a lot today, didn't get around to watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button yet but I did watch the 2 National Treasure movies. They aren't what I'd call fantastic movies but good for some light entertainment.

So I was hoping that I would get my tatoo done today but it wasn't to be so I'm booked in on Monday instead. Im getting a slight variation of THIS design on the outside of my calf.

I just watched SEVEN POUNDS. Strange film to watch but definately worth it. Will Smith is such a versatile actor and this just proves it. I don't think I've ever seen him in a bad film and this one was great too.

SpoilersCollapse )

Fab film all round I would highly recommed this one. I'm gonna be watching THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON later so I'll let you know how that goes.

Some more from thefridayfive

1.What tastes best covered in chocolate?
More chocolate, you can never have too much chocolate :D

2.Why do you eat chocolate the way you do (or don't)?
Because it's tasty and I want to savour it for as long as I can.

3.Do you know how chocolate is made?
I know that cocoa is somehow involved. If it's gross then I don't wanna know.

4.If you knew you would live 5 years longer if you never ate any chocolate again, would you give it up?
I'd like to say yes but it's just not that easy to give up.

5.Have you ever had carob?
I don't even know what that is so I'm gonna say no.

So Greg being the wonderful man that he is let me use his credit card to pay for my LJ account :D

I've spent the weekend with my mum and Lorna since they came for a visit and we all went to the wedding Fayre at the SECC, Greg was dragged along with us for good measure. It was good to get an idea of what things are gonna cost for the wedding and a list of places where we can find things that we need. There were a lot of freebies and so many people crammed in to the hall.

We also visited Dalziel Park to view it as a wedding venue and we were all very impressed. It was very nice and had plenty of space and not too pricey so it's definately top of the list so far. We have another few places to visit but I think we'll have somewhere picked out in the next month. All in all it will shortly be all go for the wedding planning.
